--- Comment #6 from Davide Repetto <[email protected]> --- Not Only I can reproduce the bug, I recently opened one report just like this one on Fedora and I was informed about this by the maintainer. (Red Hat Bugzilla – Bug 2535056) The problem can be easily reproduced on Fedora Mate 44. Even in a VM. I'm available for further testing. Here's the original content of my report: Description of problem: ======================= When selecting text in LibreOffice Writer by clicking and dragging the mouse cursor past the bottom or top edges of the application window, the autoscroll speed is extremely slow and (some moderate) acceleration comes in late. Unlike the behavior reported in Bug 135207 of libreoffice (where scrolling is described as uncontrollably fast), on this specific environment the scrolling remains sluggish and fails to accelerate adequately, regardless of how far or fast the mouse is dragged outside the window bounds. Changing VCL plugins (e.g., SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3 or gen) or disabling Skia/hardware acceleration does not alter or improve the autoscroll behavior. There are no mouse/autoscroll options in preferences or advanced preferences. Steps to reproduce: =================== 1. Open a multi-page document in LibreOffice Writer. 2. Click and hold the left mouse button to begin a text selection. 3. Drag the cursor past the bottom edge of the window to initiate autoscroll. Actual results: =============== The document scrolls at a very slow rate, with some insufficient acceleration setting in, only after too long. Dragging the mouse further down does not trigger any proportional acceleration. (Also, it apparently scrolls one paragraph at a time, so it's jumpy and irregular too, depending on the size of each paragraph) Expected results: ================= The autoscroll steps should be finer, consistent, and reasonably fast from the start, then accelerate proportionally, based on the distance between the mouse cursor and the window edge. Version-Release number of selected component: ============================================= LibreOffice version: 26.2.6.3-1.fc44.x86_64 Additional info: ================ Environment: - OS: Fedora 44 - Desktop Environment: MATE - Display Server: X11 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
