All of your suggestions require advanced user knowledge prior to performing the suggested steps. While these suggestions will aid me, what about the next person who first opens LibreOffice? Having to switch from portrait mode to landscape mode is a common need when opening a new document I would suggest a prompt to ask which layout format to use during "new document" open process.
