Bug ID: 173743
Summary: Inline Headings are not renumbered immediately after
insertion or reordering
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
When using Tools → Heading Numbering together with Inline Headings, inserting
or moving an Inline Heading does not immediately update its chapter number
according to its new position in the document.
The Inline Heading is correctly inserted or moved in the document hierarchy
(and can be moved with Navigator → Move Heading Up / Move Heading Down), but
its displayed chapter number remains the number it received when it was
originally inserted.
The numbering is corrected after closing and reopening the document.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open a new Writer document.
2. Go to Tools → Heading Numbering and configure a heading level (e.g. Heading
4) to use automatic chapter numbering.
3. Create several Inline Headings by selecting only the heading text at the
beginning of a paragraph and applying Heading 4.
4. Insert a new Inline Heading between two others.
OR Try to move an Inline Heading up or down with the Navigator.
Actual Results:
When trying to create a new Inline Heading between two others, it takes the #
it should take if it was created at the end of the document.
When trying to move an Inline Heading, it does move but doesn't change number.
But when closing and reopening the document, Inline Headings are renumbered as
they should.
Expected Results:
When trying to create a new Inline Heading between two others, it should take
the number of the following one, and the following one also renumbered.
When trying to move an Inline Heading, it should change number.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
Interestingly, deleting an Inline Heading does trigger immediate renumbering of
the following headings.
