Bug ID: 173753
Summary: Writer jumps to a previous page instead of the current
one when opening the Sidebar in multi-page view (e.g.,
two pages view).
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
In LibreOffice Writer, when the document view is set to display multiple pages
side-by-side (e.g., viewing pages 3 and 4) and the user opens the Sidebar, the
view unexpectedly jumps to a previous page (such as page 2) instead of
maintaining the current page where the cursor is located.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Writer and create or open a multi-page document (at least 4
pages).
2. Change the view layout to display two pages at the same time (multi-page
view).
3. Scroll down or place the cursor so that pages 3 and 4 are currently
displayed.
4. Open the Sidebar (e.g., via menu View > Sidebar or the shortcut).
Actual Results:
The document view shifts/jumps automatically to a previous page (e.g., page 2)
instead of keeping pages 3 and 4 or the cursor position visible.
Expected Results:
The software should keep the current page where the cursor is active or the
currently viewed pages visible without unexpected jumping when opening the
Sidebar.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
