You wrote most problems cannot be solved easily. I see it differently. The
problems you mentioned (write protected file, not enough space on the disk,
etc.) are all causes of error that can be solved easily (by changing file
permissions, deleting other files on the disk, etc.)

In all of these cases, retrying the save operation would be beneficial.

The  benefit is something that we cannot decide easily. If you mostly work with
1-page, text-only PDFs that are regenerated in less than a second then the
benefit is not big, I admit. But if you have large documents that are being
generated for almost a minute, like in my case, then the frustration is quite
annoying. 

And my document was not even extreme. It was just ~50 pages. If you have
hundreds of pages and images, the time you need to wait again and again would
be several minutes. 

Getting an error message after such a long export would drive me crazy and I
would be very angry with LO. 

Please reconsider making this enhancement.
