Bug ID: 173793
Summary: Writer: horizontal line artifacts over images anchored
"As character" when scrolling (gtk3 VCL plugin,
Wayland/XWayland)
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.6.3 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
When an image is anchored "As character" in Writer, thin horizontal lines are
drawn across the image while scrolling up and down through the document. The
lines look like leftover fragments of the repaint and disappear when the view
is fully redrawn. Other anchor modes do not show the problem. The artifacts
appear with the gtk3 VCL plugin, both on native Wayland and with
GDK_BACKEND=x11 SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gtk3. They do not appear with
SAL_USE_VCLPLUGIN=gen.
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open Writer and type some text.
2.Insert any image, right click it and choose Anchor > As Character.
3.Scroll down and up over the image several times.
Actual Results:
Horizontal lines appear across the image while scrolling. They look like
repaint artifacts. Screenshot to be attached after submitting.
Expected Results:
The image is repainted cleanly with no lines or artifacts while scrolling.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
