Bug ID: 173824
Summary: Calc: Cannot edit text inside grouped shapes by
double-clicking (works in Writer)
Product: LibreOffice
Version: unspecified
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
In LibreOffice Calc, after inserting shapes, adding text inside them, and
grouping them together, double-clicking on a shape within the group does not
allow editing its text. This functionality works as expected in LibreOffice
Writer, but fails in Calc.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open LibreOffice Calc.
2. Insert two or more shapes (e.g., Rectangles) on the sheet (Insert -> Shape).
3. Double-click each shape and write text inside.
4. Select all shapes, right-click, and select Group -> Group (or press
Ctrl+Shift+G).
5. Double-click on one of the shapes inside the group to try editing its text.
Actual Results:
Double-clicking on a grouped shape does not enter text edit mode, making it
impossible to edit the text without ungrouping first.
Expected Results:
Double-clicking should enter text editing mode for the selected shape within
the group (or enter group edit mode), consistent with LibreOffice Writer.
Reproducible: Always
