Thanks Stuart for the feedback.

However, I would like to clarify a few key UI/UX and technical points regarding
this issue:

Reset All Scope: As shown in the Appearance settings dialog, the Reset All
button is located specifically under the Customizations section (for UI element
colors). It does not affect or revert changes made to Icons themes or
LibreOffice Themes.

Standard Cancel Button Behavior: According to standard desktop UI/UX
guidelines, if a user previews a new icon theme or appearance option and then
clicks Cancel, all temporary preview changes should be discarded, returning the
UI to its initial state. Currently, clicking Cancel leaves the temporary
preview applied permanently.

Simplified Technical Implementation (Snapshot Pattern): Regarding the concern
about "over-engineering" a change-tracking mechanism: reversing changes does
not require tracking individual actions or complex history logs. A standard
"Snapshot" (or Memento) approach is sufficient—simply caching the initial
settings state when the dialog opens, and restoring that single cached state if
the user clicks Cancel.

Redundant UI Controls: If changes are meant to be applied permanently on
selection without the ability to roll back, then keeping the Cancel, Reset, and
Apply buttons in the dialog becomes misleading. If these buttons cannot perform
their standard control functions for these settings, their presence in the UI
serves no purpose.

User Experience: Expecting users to perform a full User Profile Reset or
manually delete theme files just to undo a quick preview is unnecessarily
cumbersome.

The live preview feature itself is excellent, but clicking Cancel should
naturally roll back any unconfirmed preview changes made during that session.
