--- Comment #5 from Anders Lind <[email protected]> --- TL;DR / Please watch these two videos first: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otLVxsDlr2E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOALFLAbge0 They demonstrate the problem much more clearly than the written description can. In short: When strings contain characters from different Unicode blocks/scripts, LibreOffice can render characters incorrectly — including missing characters, blank rectangles, unexpected font/style changes, overlapping characters, and characters appearing at the wrong positions. This is not limited to Linux. The same general rendering problems can also be reproduced in the Windows version of LibreOffice, although the exact manifestations can differ between Windows and Linux. What makes the problem particularly unusual is that rendering can change when apparently unrelated things are changed, such as zoom level, scrolling, insertion order, surrounding content, or saving/reloading. The problem is also affected by LibreOffice's UI mode; for example, some cases are reproducible with the Tabbed UI but not reliably with the default UI. The detailed cases document the different manifestations and provide reproducible test scenarios on both platforms. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
