--- Comment #4 from [email protected] --- Yes, it's a voronoi treemap. It can be arranged within any convex shape, both regular/symmetric (circle, pentagon, octagon, etc.) and non-symmetrical, 'irregular' shapes (as long as they are convex). They are increasingly used in data visualization and are quite intuitive. One of the main problems is the placement of the labels (when there are many categories with very heterogeneous sizes). There are tough decisions to be made about placement, font size, etc. that usually do not satisfy many users. In 99% of the cases I've seen* and produced, labels are usually placed manually, ad-hoc for infographics, except in very simple cases (eg a few large categories). * Visual Capitalist / voronoi uses them quite often, eg see: https://www.voronoiapp.com/nature/Ranked-Countries-With-the-Most-Lakes-9063 With that said, I'm not sure it is a good idea to include it in LO. It is much better suited for web-based documents, where the plot is interactive and the user can hover with the mouse to see the data from the smaller areas instead of finding a good (impossible) solution to show labels. In my humble opinion, I don't think it's worth the trouble... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
