Bug ID: 173891
Summary: Show cell formulas with coloring also when cell names
are used, not only cell addresses
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 26.2.6.3 release
Hardware: All
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
When pressing F2 on a cell formular in Libre Office Calc, the formula is shown
with all referenced cells if they are given as cell addresses. As soon as named
fields are used, these formula components are not colored and not shown at all,
although they are referenced and calculated correctly. It would be very helpful
when addresses and names would be displayed accordingly when pressing F2.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open an empty Calc sheet
2. Enter 5 into A1
3. Enter 10 into A2
4. Enter =A1+A2 into A3
5. Goto cell A3 and press F2
6. Name cell A2 using "Testname"
7. Change A3 to "=A1+Testname" (replace A2 by Testname)
8. Goto cell A3 and press F2
Actual Results:
At step 5:
Very helpfully and correctly one can see "=A1+A2" while A1 has the same color
as the shown referenced frame around cell A1. And accordingly, A2 has the same
color as the shown referenced frame around cell A2.
At step 8:
Now only A1 in the cell formula and the referenced cell A1 are colored.
The result stays the same (correctly) but the reference is not reflected
optically any more
Expected Results:
At step 8:
I would expect to have colored both components of the formula colored and also
both referenced cells (A1 and Testname) colored accordingly.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
It would be very, very helpful, if the coloring and the reflection of
dependecies would work with cell addresses as well as with cell names
