I sincerely apologize for the confusion I've caused. Now I need to figure out what went wrong specifically, whether uninstalling and reinstalling the LibreOffice will help, or if I'll need to perform a complete fresh install, starting from the operating system itself. Thanks to everyone who helped, and also to those who followed this "bug"... which ultimately turned out to be an installation that had somehow become corrupted.
