Adv,

First, thank you for maintaining an open discussion with me on this.

I agree with you that their may be more than one possible behaviour when
copying multiple worksheets. Before describing why there is a need to change
the default behaviour in LibreOffice, I would like to ensure that we are on the
same page.

1) In an attempt to keep thing somewhat simpler, I have uploaded a new
spreadsheet (Version 3) that contains 5 sheets where the sheet2 have a formula
in B1 (="is currently just before " & Sheet3.A1) pointing to sheet3:

1.1) Do you agree that if I copy sheet2 and sheet3 together (using the right
click option) before Sheet1, the formula in Sheet2_2 points to Sheet4 (not
Sheet3_2)?

1.2) Do you agree that if instead I copy sheet2 and sheet3 together after
sheet4, the formula in Sheet2_2 point to Sheet3 (not Sheet3_2)?

2) Do you agree that LibreOffice does not provide an option to select the type
of behaviour in solving references in formulas when copying multiple sheets?

3) Do you agree that LibreOffice does not provide an option to select the type
of behaviour in solving references in formulas when copying a “block of data”
like multiple rows, columns or cells (such as Behaviour#1 in the sheet
“UseCases”)?

4) Do you agree that the behaviour for resolving references in formulas is
deferent when copying multiple sheets and copying a “block of data” like
multiple rows, columns or cells (such as Behaviour#1 in the sheet “UseCases”)?

5) Do you agree that if I copy a “block of data”, like multiple rows, columns
or cells (like the Behaviour#1 in the sheet “UseCases”), LibreOffice always
keeps the reference of the formulas within the block of the multiple selection?
For example Behaviour#1 in the sheet “UseCases” of the version 3 of my
spreadsheet?

6) Do you agree that LibreOffice behaviour in solving references in formulas,
when copying multiple Sheets using the right click option “Move or Copy
sheet…”, is unique compare to all other behaviour in LibreOffice when copying
multiple “block of data”?

7) Do you agree that LibreOffice behaviour in solving references in formulas,
when copying multiple Sheets using the right click option “Move or Copy
sheet…”, is unique when compare to the behaviour of Excel and Google Sheets
which keeps the references of formulas within the Sheets that are being copied
the same way as to when a “block of data” is being copied (like the
behaviour#2)?

8) If today the default behaviour for LibreOffice was the same as Excel or
Google Sheets (which is not), would you agree to change LibreOffice to what it
is now, giving all of the above? If you answer “no” to this question, shouldn’t
you agree to accept the change that I am requesting?

In regard to presenting the steps that I am suggesting, I would like that
copying multiple sheets using the right click option “Move or Copy sheet…”
behave like other behaviour when selecting and copying multiple block of data.
For example:
A) Using the version 3 of my spreadsheet, selecting both Sheet2 and Sheet3 to
be copied before Sheet1, the cell B1 in Sheet2_2 should point to “Sheet3_2.A1”
not “Sheet4.A1”.
B) Similarly, using the version 3 of my spreadsheet, selecting both Sheet2 and
Sheet3 to be copied after Sheet4, the cell B1 in “Sheet2_2” should point to
“Sheet3_2.A1” not “Sheet3.A1”.

Adv, let me know if you are convinced, or not, to accept my change request.

Thanks

JF
