Bug ID: 174029
Summary: Pivot Table results filter unreliable when mixed
numerical and text entries in data
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 24.2.7.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
In LibreOffice Calc, a Pivot Table filter behaves unexpectedly when the source
column contains the same displayed value in two different data types: once as a
number and once as text.
For example, the source data contains both the numeric value 4500178 and the
text value '4500178. When I filter the Pivot Table for another value, for
example 4511854 the entries of one of the 4500178 value may still be shown.
Steps to reproduce:
Create a source-data column containing mixed numerical and text entries,
with some of the entries in two different format.
Create a Pivot Table using that column.
Filter the Pivot Table to show only one of the values.
Observe the results.
Expected result: The filter should show only the selected value, or clearly
distinguish the numeric and text values.
Actual result: Values that do not match the selected filter remain visible, or
the filter treats the two values inconsistently.
Environment: LibreOffice version: 24.2.7.2 and 26.8.1.1
Operating system: Linux mint 22.3 Mate 64 bits
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a source-data column containing mixed numerical and text entries,
with some of the entries in two different format.
2. Create a Pivot Table using that column.
3. Filter the Pivot Table to show only one of the values.
4. Observe the results.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
When I filter the Pivot Table for on specific value, the entries of one or
several other values may still be shown.
Expected Results:
Only the entries matching the filtered values are shown
Reproducible: Always
