--- Comment #6 from Uncombed5936 <[email protected]> --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #3) > The use cases appear artificial to me. They are not artificial at all. All the examples I shared here are real life examples. When you edit book-length texts you encounter scenarios like these all the time, usually at the last minute before a deadline. This feature can save you hours of manual searching (or switching to MS Word temporarily). > Nevertheless I understand the desire > to use RegEx with formattings and could think about not showing the format > below the find input but as some enhancement to the algorithm. > > {fontname:"Liberation Sans"}.* > {?=fontsize:"11"|fontsize:"13"}{?fontcolor:"#FF0000"}Test > > We should avoid to add more UI controls, toggles, conditions. RegEx support would be good but if you can specify an attribute as AND in plain Find, it would be inconsistent not to have the NOT option. Less skilled users shouldn't be forced to use RegEx either, particularly if they are coming from MS Word where NOT is supported. More generally, Word's three-state tick-boxes (Yes, No, greyed out 'possibly') helps in different contexts. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
