Personally, I find the Status 'resolved'/'not-a-bug' a bit strange. IMHO when 'Joe Regular'-user launches an application and it crashes it's a bug. Other applications no longer supporting 10.5 redirect me to an older release still supporting 10.5. Even when manually overriding the download to a newer version, the OS prevents me from launching it. I don't know how that works though.
