Many confirmations from MS-Windows users: the assignment of pps files to
LibreOffice is done during installation process and LibreOffice starts
automatically in slideshow mode.
Closing as WorksForMe. Please, feel free to reopen if you still experience this
problem with current stable or active branches (4.0.6, 4.1.x and 4.2.x).
