Repro steps:
> 1. Draw a freeform line on a slide in Impress.

- Open new presentation
- On the Drawing bar, click the drop-down arrow next to the "Curve" icon, and
select "Freeform Line"
- Draw a forward slash "/" across the slide

> 2. Optional: add a custom animation ("appear", for example) to the new
> freeform shape.

As it's optional, I'll skip this step.

> 3. Save the file as a PPT and close.

Saving as "Microsoft Powerpoint 97/2000/XP/2003 (.ppt)"

> 4. Open the PPT file again.

> Current behavior:
> Freeform line disappears. Other shapes may or may not persist.

Confirmed.

If I repeat the test and save to ODF instead, the line remains after closing
and re-opening the document.
