In the steps I just set out, it was the default font for the default template: Liberation Serif. I have just tried it on another system, running OS X 10.8.5, and seen the same result. Are you sure you're testing in Web Layout mode? If so, please can you describe your system? Maybe there's some obvious difference in the environment.
