Please do not wait for other applications to implement this on the desktop. This may not be a simple change, but it is a very important one. For all the flash-in the pan changes made in software lately, why not implement an improvement that makes sense. What UI improvement could be better one that lets the user navigate your document with less disorientation? As a feature, I ask that the importance be raised.
