Priority: medium Bug ID: 81133 Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Summary: EDITING: Improper handling of navigation within range selection. Severity: normal Classification: Unclassified OS: Linux (All) Reporter: k...@cox.net Hardware: Other Whiteboard: BSA Status: UNCONFIRMED Version: 4.1.3.2 release Component: Spreadsheet Product: LibreOffice Problem description: Calc's handling of a range selection on entering a value after deleting the range is inconsistent. Steps to reproduce: 1. Enter numbers or other values in a column or range. 2. Select the range (with mouse or keys). 3. Press the Delete key (the range remains selected. 4. Without changing the selected cell, enter one or more values (the selection remains selected as long as you navigate using only Enter or Tab). 5. Press an arrow key that will not move to a cell outside the selection (the selection is cancelled). Current behavior: Working within a selected range is cancelled if you try to navigate within the range using an arrow key. Expected behavior: Either any navigation or cell entry at all within a selected range using keystrokes should cancel the selection (probably makes the most sense); or a selection should be deselected by deleting (effectively the same as above, but less confusing to the user), or use of arrow keys to navigate within a selection should work (forcing the user to mouse-click outside the selection to cancel it - which would be a nuisance). Operating System: Linux (Other) Version: 4.1.3.2 release -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
