Bug #: 46368 Summary: EDITING: Formatting character input has gone missing Classification: Unclassified Product: LibreOffice Version: LibO 3.5.0 Release Platform: Other OS/Version: All Status: UNCONFIRMED Status Whiteboard: BSA Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer AssignedTo: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org ReportedBy: jrw0...@yahoo.co.uk Problem description: Steps to reproduce: 1. Select menu item insert, formatting mark Current behavior: Get choice of just 3 characters: non-breaking space non-breaking hyphen optional hyphen Expected behavior: Up to Version 3.4.5, we also had a choice of: no width optional break (identified as ZWSP) no width no break (identified as WORD JOINER) left-to-right mark right-to-left mark I use ZWSP and WJ to correct errors in line-breaking for the Thai script - they will also be useful for correcting word-breaking for Thai spell checking when it is made usable by a change expected for Version 3.5.1. For example, the Northern Thai sentence หัวหน้าแจ้งงานหื้อลูกน้องฟังก่อนหยะญะก๋าน can be made to line-break properly in LibreOffice 3.4.5 and 3.5.0 by sticking a word joiner between the first two characters of หยะ. While ZWSP is found on some keyboards, WJ is very rare. Fonts do not normally have glyphs for these control characters, so insert, special character is not an alternative.
