--- Comment #10 from BEFE Software <b...@bferris.co.uk> 2012-02-21 05:23:54 PST

Jean-Baptiste, I did further investigation on my Ubuntu claim, and it turns out
that you were right... It does act the same way in Ubuntu as it does on
Windows -- I must not have been paying close enough attention when I asserted
the two platforms behaved differently.

I don't have multiple LibreOffice installations on my Ubuntu machine -- at
least none that I can detect.

And, the work around with "-env:UserInstallation=file://..." fixes the problem
on Ubuntu as well. So, in my case, I have worked around this in my own
software by invoking "soffice -env:UserInstallation=file://..." and everything
works just fine now.

Good stuff!!!

If you wish, you can change this bug to "Resolved" but I am still a bit uneasy
about that because...

  A) I don't have a reasonable explanation of why separate "empty windows"
could possibly be required when I specify "--invisible" and other
settings to mean "I don't need any GUI interaction, just DO IT!!!".
So, it seems the requirement is something oddly internal to LibreOffice
on multiple ports or, possibly, a simple "that got overlooked" type
     of bug.

  B) Once again, I couldn't find "-env:UserInstallation=..." mentioned
anywhere obvious in the technical documentation -- although this
may be my own deficiency because I could just be looking in the wrong
places as I'm not a LibreOffice guru -- just an "end user".

I will however, as soon as I can get the time, check out the dev mailing list,
figure out what that is about (because I haven't used it before) and submit the
query there.

Thank you very much for your time and effort in resolving this for me.
