By all means, please open up a new bug report with regard to being unable to create new Input fields in an existing document, I don't know whether this was considered when the work was done to change the behaviour, or whether that is indeed a bug. In theory, loss of functionality over existing previous functionality is a bug, at least might be considered a regression. Please open up a new bug report for that.
