you can configure LO to use its ugly built in file dialog
Tools->Options...->LibreOffice->General->Open/Save dialogs->Use LibreOffice
dialogs
also people claim that the Mac OS X file dialog will
allow entering a path after hitting the "/" key.
this is of course all designed to be perfectly intuitive
like everything on Mac so there is no bug here.
