Hi Jay, for me this is neither a bug nor an enhancement:
- background of the paragraph --> just as you did
- background of the cell --> select the cell and click on the background color
icon.
The background icon reacts depending on the mode your are, if you are in edit
mode in the table, that will affect the paragraph, if you're in selection mode,
that will affect the cell. Closing as works for me. Please reopen if you
