Okay, so that just sounds like a potential slow-down.

That seems pretty reasonable in terms of cross-platform or even between-machine
compatibility, but I'm talking about a single, unchanging stack of hardware and
software.

Those sound like good best practices, but I think that my previous claim
stands: On a single computer using a single copy of LibreOffice, I wouldn't
expect the # of pages to change. If we're losing some data due to round-off,
then let's a make a note of it and possibly fix it. If there's actually a
non-deterministic function involved in the layout, let's document it and
(maybe?) fix it.
