Bug ID: 89072
Summary: No Possibility to Display Long Files Names or Titles
of Templates Completely
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 4.4.0.3 release
Hardware: Other
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: UI
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Steps in order to reproduce the bug:
[1] If not existing, create a folder for templates on your system and add the
path of this folder to the template folders in the LibreOffice options.
[2] Create new text document and insert some text.
[3] Save this document as text document template (extension: ott) into your
template folder. Chose quite a long file name with about 50 characters.
[4] Close this new template. The Start Center is displayed.
[5] Click on Templates and then double click on My Templates. Only about 30
characters of the file name followed by 3 dots of the newly created template
are displayed.
[6] Move the mouse pointer above the new template. Nothing happens. Expected:
The complete file name with the complete path should be displayed as tip. This
would be equal to the display of recent documents in the Start Center.
[7] Display the templates with the Template Manager: File > New > Templates.
Then select tab “Documents” and then “My Templates”. Only about 40 characters
of the newly created template are displayed.
[8] Move the mouse pointer above the new template. Nothing happens. Expected:
Also here the complete document name should be displayed as tip.
[9] Open the new template: Select file and then “Edit”.
[10] Open Properties dialogue: File > Properties…
[11] Select “Description” and insert a title with about 50 characters. Then OK.
[12] Save and close template. The Start Center is displayed.
[13] Repeat steps [5] to [8]. The result is equal except that the title is
displayed and not the file name. The title is also truncated after about 30 or
40 characters.
