It has nothing to do with the original reported bug here (LibO freezes in Windows with LO 3.5.2 in a special case). LO-Base should work with every Java-version. I have installed Java 8 here on a Linux-rpm-64bit system. Works well with Base. So could be it is a special Mac-bug.
