Valid enhancement request - just a heads up though that it's very unlikely
it'll be implemented any time soon. There aren't a lot of developers interested
in base, it's our least used component, and those that are interested are
focused on bug squashing not enhancement requests.
That being said - marking as NEW as it's a valid request.
