Bug ID: 94521 Summary: FEATURE REQUEST: Highlighting of current line Product: LibreOffice Version: 5.0.1.2 release Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64) OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: medium Component: Writer Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: tom...@freenet.de When editing long paragraphs (many lines) of text and switching often between the screen and some paperwork on the table, it is sometimes difficult to find the actual text cursor position within the text document on the screen. As a workaround I often play with the curser keys in order to finally recognize the jumping bar of the text cursor withing the text document on the screen. The editor "kate" has a very helpful feature called "Editor background colors -> Current line", which allows the user to specify a background color for the entire line that holds the text cursor. As a result, the search for the text cursor is now reduced only to one single line, the line that is highlighted. It would be helpful, if a corresponding option could be added to LO Writer and if a dedicated button could be added to one of the toolbars (eg Format) to allow a quick turn-on/off of this feature.
