You cannot just redefine existing functionality as the OpenType replacement
might not work all the time, for example most typefaces that support super and
subscript features has very incomplete coverage, so just applying the features
instead of scaling will result in some characters as superscript and some are
not. This can be said for other features as well, so you will still need a way
for the user to manually control the use of OpenType feature here, and this
will eventually need to be saved to the file, so we are back to square 0; ODF
does not support this AFAIK.
