So you are saying if the OLE Object is created with Excel then we cannot open
it in LibreOffice?

I am missing something here in the logic

Libre office is able to open Excel files

So my point is my colleague create Excel file Excel1.xls with Excel
He is also creating Excel2.xls with Excel

He is embedding Excel2 in Excel1 as OLE object

And he is sending me Excel1 (with embedded Excel 2 as OLE object).

I am opening Excel1 in my LibreOffice, I should be able to open the Excel2
which is embedded in Excel1 no?

For me definitely otherwise I do not see the point in OLE objects
