            Bug ID: 99243
Summary: Special characters cause display corruption and cursor
                    misalignment
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.0.5.2 release
          Hardware: x86 (IA32)
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

I am created a document with lots of bullet items and Heading style types,
although I doubt this is a contributing factor. If I type a series of
characters such as --> which changes automatically into a singular right facing
arrow, the entire sentence font spacing becomes corrupt. Characters are
crushed together or disappear altogether. The cursor (blinking cursor, not
mouse cursor) becomes severely misaligned. For example, the cursor may be at
the end of a line but be blinking about 1 inch from the trailing end of the
last character. If you move the cursor mid-sentence and then you type
something in, the new characters are inserted somewhere other than where the
cursor is.

Otherwise, I love your software and I am almost entirely migrated away from the
spyware otherwise known as MS Office.
