Sorry, but not on my system.
I opened Writer directly (no Start Center), changed the Window width, and when
I typed the first character in the document, the Window reverted to its
starting size. Resized again after that, and further edits didn't cause it to
change, but the old size was restored when I opened Writer again.
So then I opened Writer directly once again, resized it, and immediately
exited. Still the same.
Next I opened Writer directly, resized it, and saved the document with no
changes and immediately exited. Still the same behavior.
Still, the speed up on the sidebar movement is nice...
Perhaps manually editing the user profile for the Writer module will "lock" the
setting ??
