            Bug ID: 101093
Summary: LibreOffice Only Allows Install To C Drive
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 5.1.4.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: LibreOffice
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: jopo...@juno.com

No matter how carefully I look for options, Libre Office (every recent version)
always installs to C Drive without ANY option to do otherwise. I consider this
an unacceptable BUG in the installation procedure.

Why do I want it on a different partition?:

1) I have long ago discovered that Windows runs more quickly and reliably if
the OS and most other programs are on separate partitions. There is absolutely
NO GOOD REASON for program files to be intermixed with the OS. I currently use
a 40 GB OS partition for Win 10.

2) It is FAR better to keep the programs and data files away from the Swapfile
and Hibernate file to reduce possible fragmentation and corruption.

3) Defragmentation works more reliably and efficiently if OS and programs
aren't mixed. I can defrag a non-OS partition or drive without rebooting as
well. I can decide more easily what to defrag. All very handy if Windows or a
program does a big update or has a problem.

4) If a drive or partition fails, is virused, malwared or hacked, the
possibility of data recovery is better on the other drives or partitions.

5) If I upgrade to a newer version of Windows (last example: Win 7 to 10,
currently for free until 7/29/2016) my programs won't be mixed with the new
files. If the new OS wants the OS partition reformatted for installation, my
program files are unaffected, even if the programs must be reinstalled.

If you need a proper metaphor, I've got a ship called "PC" and want the engine
room and cargo hold separated. Could my procedure be any more logical???
