I'm sorry, you're correct, they won't be closed. However, see for example:

There are plenty of bugs for which this is useful (including perhaps the one I
linked to). For bugs which are a clear case of missing functionality, it's not.
But this is a side issue. The main question is: can we have a tracker bug for
this feature, please?
