Well, it is quite obvious, how the procedure was, however:
open old odt
delete old content
start open import document
select mode "text encoded"
==> broken import
as to your guess I started a new/blank .odt
and did the same
this time it worked, font selection is available as expected
and I can choose the monospace-font as wished.
so it's up to you to find out, what the hindering rest in the old file was.
original (bad) file available on PM only
