The sidebar style name as white on white is a known problem (I don't have time
to dig it out now).
Otherwise it seems you have some unique glitching going on.
"It was OK before upgrading to Kubuntu 16.10" makes me think you should report
this to Kubuntu or try something else to sort it out. I mean, you upgraded and
did not reinstall Kubuntu from scratch? And reinstalling LibreOffice does not
help?
