This very strange.
I did a purge
(sudo apt-get remove --purge libreoffice5*)
Then installed Linux 64-bit Version: 5.4.0.0.alpha0+
Now, Writer starts, shows the splash, but does not appear.
If I end process soffice.bin, then calc, impress and even base start fine.
