Bug ID: 105770
Summary: Consider frames anchored as characters as real
characters.
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 5.2.2.2 release
Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: enhancement
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: jerome.laur...@u-bourgogne.fr
Math formulas are frames anchored as characters and it is a good thing because
they are just characters with a dedicated set of typesetting rules. However,
there is a drawback from at least 2 standpoints
1) when a math formula ends a phrase, the line breaking mechanism allows the
dot to be separated from the math character just before, sometimes creating an
orphan dot.
2) There is a smart feature that automatically capitalize the first word of a
new sentence. Unfortunately, when the phrase starts with a math formula, it
capitalizes the second word of the phrase, which is annoying.
There is a simple workaround for point 2) but not for point 1) which is really
a bad thing.
Request : let the line breaking and the capitalizing mechanisms consider frames
anchored as characters as real characters.
