I did the same a-d tests of comment 46 with the new (beta?) 6.2.0.3 release on
Linux and the same hardware and I obtained the same results (same timings and
same issue with smooth scrolling enabled) for the GTK3 backend.
As I said before, scrolling an image is still a bit slow. If the document has
many images, this is an issue when scrolling many times the document back and
forth...
I couldn't test the GTK2 with LibreOffice 6.2.0.3. I don't even know if this
backend is still available with this version?
