            Bug ID: 130646
           Summary: Simplification of Hyperlink Process
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 6.4.0.3 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org
          Reporter: drfran...@embarqmail.com

Description:
There needs to be a simplified method of inserting hyperlinks into a document
using bookmarked segments of the document.

Steps to Reproduce:
I use Writer for creating LARGE documents and need the option of putting
hyperlinks into the document to enable referencing of terminology which may be
obscure to or forgotten by the reader. That is I link technical words with
their prior definitions or explanations in the same document.

There should be a FASTER way to open the hyperlink entry system and get to the
bookmarks than exists now. To enter a hyperlink NOW from one part of a
document to another you first must set up a bookmark to link to from the word
you want to define or clarify. Then you have to OPEN the hyperlink dialogues
with CTRL-K then TAB backward 2 times then cursor down 2 times and then tab
forward 4 times and then hit space to open the bookmark menu. If you have say
100 bookmarks it is very awkward to do this and then have to scroll slowly down
the list to find the one you want to link to. Then you have to press enter and
then ALT C then Alt O 2 times to exit the area back to the document. This
should be MUCH simpler to accomplish. In addition in using this system it is
tedious to have to scroll through a LONG list of BOOKMARKS to find the one to
link to. A search option in this area would be amazingly helpful.

The configuration options for hyperlinks and bookmarks could use some
clarification as well. It took me forever to understand that you have to set
up the proper styles and make sure the headings and content styles match then
check to make sure the link looks the way you want it to when it is entered.

Actual Results:
The process works but is exceedingly tedious.

Expected Results:
Hot Keys to set up a hyperlink might be the answer and a search option in the
bookmark selection area.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
The instructions in the help bundle are obscure in this area as well.
