This also happens with LO 3.3.4, 3.5.7 and 3.6.4. (I couldn't find the latest
3.4 installer).
I don't have a copy of MS Office, but I've tested with the current FreeOffice
(freeoffice.com) from Softmaker:
The textediting Software (TextMaker) does show the connection correct. (I've
done all the steps till step 5 with LO (safed in ODF), and only opened with
TextMaker), so I assume the problem is a FILEOPEN problem.
I couldn't find any related bugs yet.
