Paying a license fee to Oracle for business use of their JDK is independent of
using LO Writer.

For example, LibreOffice Vanilla, available from the app store, doesn't have
any Java functionality included, but still lets you use Writer (and all of the
other modules), just as long as you don't try to call any Java functionality.

You can install the community edition of Oracle JDK if you want to use Java
functionality within LO.

The JDK needs to be copied to /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/ in order to be
recognized by LO.
