I repro the error. Another person tried to open the file in Excel 2013, but it
refused to open. The person was able to insert it as an add-in, though.
There is an older report (closed due to insufficient data), which sounds kind
of similar: bug 117320
Leaving this as unconfirmed, because I have no evidence that LibreOffice should
support these files.
Also tested with 4.4.7 and 3.5.0.
