@Heiko I find this option especially useful when you receive files from third
parties that need to be converted to a certain template. You can then copy the
formatting and use this feature to adapt the text bit by bit to an existing
template.
What makes the feature in Word extra useful is that Word creates new styles on
the fly and shows them in the Styles panel, as soon as you introduce a
combination that doesn't yet exist. This makes cleaning up text very easy.
