I mean: Hiding is not a global setting, but a property of the the document. And
if your template (or existing document) doesn't hide the style, then the
setting is visible within the document. If your default writer template
contains the style, the style is visible in all new documents as well. And if
you want the style not appear in new documents, you **need** to create a
customized default template having the style hidden. In that sense, I asked:
"Did you create a new default template, which has style "Preformatted Text"
hidden?". If not, and you recently reset your user profile, you got back the
style showing up on new documents.
PS: Why do you consequently use the phrase "style sheet", if the issue seems to
have absolutely nothing to do with sheets and calc, but "paragraph styles"?
