I see no problem in the original Word file. I've been writing these Word files (using Word 4) for over 30 years and they're all fine, and I have tens of thousands of such files. I never had a problem when converting them to modern versions of Word (using a more modern version of Word itself for the conversion) until Word stopped supporting this and I starting using LibreOffice to do the conversion.
