I think you should just remove all LO debs packages and related then install LO
from ppa if you want newer version than plain Ubuntu.
About Ubuntu itself, either you want to stick to LTS and you can upgrade to
20.04 or you can try last Ubuntu 21.10.
Let's put this one to NEEDINFO the time you try all this.
